Glimmer Train April Short Fiction Contest Deadline: April 30

Glimmer Train is a very reputable print publisher.  Their April “short fiction” contest is ending today, April 30 (3000 word limit).  However, Glimmer Train has contests virtually every month, and also has a “slush pile” feature to consider works that may have been previously overlooked.

The Katherine Anne Porter Prize for Fiction (7500 words max)

The Pablo Neruda Prize for Poetry (3-10 pages)

First Place: $2000 and publication

Second Place: $1000 and publication

Entry/Reading Fee: $20 includes one-year subscription (two issues).  Each add’l entry requires an additional $20.

R.S. Mengert teaches Creative Writing at Phoenix College. His work has been published in various journals, and he has won the Joyce Carol Oates Award for Poetry.
