Throughout the academic year, GCC hosts several readings–some sponsored by the creative writing program, others by student clubs or other organizations. As best we can, we’ll keep the reading schedule below updated.

Once per academic year, in November, we also host a Poetry & Prose Slam competition. During this event, writers from GCC and across the valley compete for monetary prizes. We advertise these events on the blog and in our CRW classes at GCC. The most current schedule is listed below, but is always subject to change. More information and event descriptions will become available as the event grows closer. We hope you will come join us, share your work, and listen to creativity abound in the west valley.

Reading Schedule for Fall 2022:

• October 13th, 7:30 to 9:00pm. Open Mic to celebrate opening of Traveler submissions.
• November, Date TBD. Prose & Poetry Slam.
